In 2010 there is a decrease in the production of tailoring industry in Bulgaria, shows the industry report of SFB Capital Market JSC on the development of the sector. Compared to 2009 the reduction of the production volume is 8% and of sales turnover - 2.5%.
In 2010, imports of apparel and tailoring products increased once again. Compared to 2009 growth rate is 10.8% and compared to 2006 - 3.9%. Exports of tailoring products grew as well - by 6.7% compared to 2009, however, exports continued to be lower compared to the period before the financial and economic crisis - by 21.8% over 2006.
The main part of apparel production in Bulgaria is toll-manufacture. In 2010 the domestic market accounted for about 5.3% of the output of Bulgarian manufacturers, versus 5% in 2009. Employees in the subsector are nearly 16.6 percent less than in 2009. The average wage is 8.8% higher, but the productivity ratio is lower by about 3.1%.
Compared to the non-financial sector of the economy, tailoring enterprises’ profitability of sales is 2.2 times greater in 2009, the current liquidity is higher by 26%, and the indebtedness ratio - lower by 26.5%. (04.05.2011)
